Why Adopt A Rescue
Available for Adoption
Lucy came to us from BARCS in December, found as a stray. They quickly found she was injured, and after exam and xrays they discovered that both of her front legs were broken. NCSR was contacted and we pulled her and got her to our vet, who confirmed the injury. Severely malnourished and underweight, her legs were splinted and she was placed in a foster home until she was healthy enough for surgery. In February Lucy had plates and pins put in her legs, and then came weeks of checkups and healing. Finally, the splints were removed and Lucy is now a happy, healthy young sheltie! Lucy's surgery alone came to almost $6000.00! Lucy is an excellent example of what rescue is, and what we do!
Lucy has gone to her new forever home with a wonderful family in PA.
