Why Adopt A Rescue
Available for Adoption
A sweet, attentive, and snuggly 9 year old boy, Homer’s life’s calling is to
take care of and dote on his human – whomever she may be. Having lived with
his human sister and her 4 beagles since March (his mom passed away in
July), he’s feeling a little lost in life and REALLY, REALLY wants to find a
new person to love. He is very smart, loves teasing games, gives many kisses
if asked, and has excellent house manners. He also has a history of being
playful and gentle when interacting with children aged 8 and older.
patient, and non-confrontational kinda guy, it’s easy to see the sadness in
Homer’s eyes when his pushy beagle housemates get all the attention. While
he has lived with and gets along just fine with other dogs, he prefers to be
an only dog. As long as they only visit, he especially likes hanging out
with girlie dogs and has even had several ‘love affairs’ with neighbor dogs
over the years!
Homer is a bit of a talker and will let you know when
there might be some danger nearby, something suspicious is going on, or new
people come around home. While he would prefer having the company of a
person who works from home or is simply home a lot, he does well on his own
and promises to keep a watchful eye on everything while you’re gone. He’s
accustomed to having a fenced yard, but also does fairly well on the leash.
He never seems to want to stray too far from his person or home.
Homer has gone to his new forever home with a
wonderful family in VA.
