| Our Story Why Adopt A Rescue Adoption Information Adoption Application Available for Adoption Previous Adoptions | Summer Summer Bradley started life as a breeder dog in a puppy mill in Lycoming County, PA. When she was rescued, she had just had a litter of puppies. She was emaciated, covered with sores, and suffering from a variety of skin conditions. Even after she was taken into rescue, life was still not easy for Summer. She ended up being returned to rescue by her first home, put into a loving foster home, but that foster home just couldn't make it work because of her young son. Summer looked like she was running out of options until NCSR took her in and she went to another foster home. Well that foster home worked perfectly and has become Summer's forever home. Summer has started an agility career in her new home and is a STAR. She has earned her novice titles for the AKC and is working on titles in DOCNA, CPE and USDAA. Summer is pictured on her dog walk displaying just a few of her ribbons! For Summer, life is just beginning! She is truly an ambassador for Rescue!
Halle November, 2007 Score of 93 out of 100 1 leg left to go for Rally Excellent!! Update: August 2008 Halle Joy will not be able to get the third leg she needs to get her Rally Excellent title due to her diagnosis of bladder cancer. But Halle wanted to help give other dogs a leg up on this disease. Halle is participating in the Ostrander Laboratory at the National Human Genome Research Institute at NIH in collaboration with the Purdue Comparative Oncology Program at Purdue University and the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at Michigan State University. They are trying to find if there is a genetic connection related to TCC Bladder Cancer. Hopefully, Halle's donation of blood samples will save other Shelties from facing this disease.
